Abstract

A tyre building mandrel uses a common mechanism for shifting the bead wire loading device and the fingers which fold the borders of the plies alongside the edges of the mandrel. The soln. offers simplicity of construction and coordination of movement compared with mandrels having separate mechanisms for the two functions.
