Abstract

A centrifugal compressor as in the main patent, has a U section channel (G) around the centrifugal distributor wheel (R) and open towards the interior. A hollow distributor plate (12) has its hollow chamber (24) located inside the U, curved delivery arms (25) extending radially from the chamber to distribute the liquid inside the U section. Liquid and air are fed into this chamber (24) by ports (26) in the wall of the air entry tube. This arrangement permits the level of the liquid in the U channel to be controlled and to selectively vary the radial dimension of the annular shaped immersed zone.
