Abstract
A blockable shock absorber consists of a cylindrical body (8). At one end of which is an articulated fixing piece (9), and the cylinder is separated into two parts by a central piece (10) with a sealed opening in it. In this slides a rod (11), one end of which (12) penetrates the other end of the cylinder. This rod has two pistons (14), (15) with rings. A pipe (16) joins the two compartments with an electrically operated valve (17) in the centre. This valve is energised when the tractor brakes are applied. It closes the connection between the two ends of the cylinder, so immobilising the shock absorbing facility.
