Abstract

The disc is particularly for cutting material into lengths, having a steel core with teeth over which peripheral diamond-impregnated segments fit. The teeth each have a tapered profiled engagement portion on the periphery and extending in the peripheral direction, fitting in a mating tapered engagement portion on the segment. The direction of the taper is such as to lock the segment in position on the tooth when thrust in the direction opposite to that in which the disc rotates. The engagement portions can be dovetail-shaped.
