Abstract

1349127 Chamfering and deburring gears HURTH VERWALTUNGS GmbH 6 Nov 1972 [20 Nov 1971] 51098/72 Heading B3K A device for deburring and/or chamfering the edges on the ends 16, 17 of a gear-wheel 10, comprises at least one cutter 14, 15, and a pilot gear 12 disposed adjacent to, and rotatable with, the cutter. The device is driven with the workpiece and they mesh with crossed axes, one end 16 or 17 being deburred with subsequent deburring of the other end after relative axial movement of the tool and work. Various forms of cutter are described, Figs. 2, 3, 4, 5 (not shown). The teeth of Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown) may be included in a single cutter, or two such cutters may be provided so that the teeth of one lie in the spaces of the other. Two cutting sectors having the teeth of Figs. 4, 5 (not shown) may be provided, one being disposed in one half of the circumference of a base member, and the other being disposed on the other half.
