Abstract

Pressure cooker with bayonet closure, mutually lockable pot or lid handles, and spring-loaded pressure limiting valve cooperating with the lid's steam outlet opening, has the valve spring prestressable in dependence on the locking of the handles. Preferably a movable adjuster is mounted in or on one of the handles, and acts both as the spring-stressing element and as the locking element. The adjuster is preferably an adjusting screw in one handle engaging in the other handle and simultaneously prestressing the spring, which consists of a partially elastic bendable arm with a valve closure body. The pot is better secured against being opened, while still under pressure.
