Abstract

A concrete article moulding installation which freezes the material inside the mould by immersing it in water at a temperature of less than 6 deg. C, has a hopper (1) with a screw (2) which passes the wet mixture to a feed cylinder (3) which deposits the required quantity into the open moulds as they are conveyed by a chain conveyor (14) along a horizontal section above a vibrating table (6). The moulds are then closed by a cam system forming part of the track, and are carried downwards for immersion in the refrigerated liquid (8) in the insulated tank below, supported by a framework (10). At the top of the upward path, the articles are removed from the moulds and deposited onto a take-off conveyor (12).
