Abstract

The method is for a display device comprising display elements arranged at the intersections of several lines (X) and several lines (Y). A first signal and a second signal are applied to the selected lines (X) and (Y) according to a shared time mode. The second signal at least of the line (X) and the first signal of the line (Y) are phase shifted with respect to the first signal of the line (X) in predetermined proportions so as to provide the maximum effective potential due to the combination of the first signal of line (X) and the first signal of line (X) and the first signal of line (Y). The first signal of line (X) and the first and second signals of line (Y) are shifted +120 deg., +180 deg. and +60 deg. w.r.t. the first signal of line (X).
