Abstract

The boxes arrive in single file on the machine, then are pushed in equal numbers to either side to form rows on two reciprocating conveyors. A sheet of cardboard is placed on the machine from a magazine, and the two rows then moved on to it, placed at a suitable distance apart to permit subsequent folding and manipulation. The folding procedes progressively, the boxes being moved after each stage. After the folding process, the two rows of boxes stand on the centre section of the card, with vertical side pieces and two horizontal top covers extended by flaps which are foled down between the two rows of boxes.
