Abstract

The top part of the sandal is removable, reversible and interchangeable, and comprises an upper (2) and a heel-piece (3) attached respectively to pairs of front (8a) and rear (8b) buttons on a sole of rubber or similar material (1). It is of double-faced material, and the upper and the heel-piece each have slotted portions fitting over the buttons. Each button is held in place by the knotted ends of a ribbon flued in a groove or passage running crosswise through the sole. The ribbon can be elastic. The slots in upper and heel-piece have widened portions at one end, and portions wider still at the upper end, through which the buttons are initially inserted.
