[A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Oct. 15, 1948.] [Classes 17 (ii) and 17 (iii)] The central portion of a resilient heel 1 has a number of elastic chambers 3 on the inside and bulbous projections 2 on the outside surrounded by a separate frame 4 which is attached to the heel. The central part can be in two pieces so that the part of greatest wear 11 can be renewed separately. The frame is undercut and the centre-piece forced in but not secured. In a modification the complete heel 1, 4 can be moulded in one piece and weakened approximately along the boundary between the centre-piece and the frame by cuts, channels or grooves;
