Abstract

A fitting to increase the size of the boot of a car so that it may be used to accommodate an animal, consists of a rear panel (2) with two sides (3, 4) connected to it by hinges (5) which are shaped to fit onto the top of the open boot. Inside the rear panel is a hook (11) with a threaded portion carrying a butterfly nut (15) which is used to attach the fitting to a staple inside the boot. The side panels each incorporate an inlet duct (18) for air, and the rear panel incorporates two ventilation grids (19, 20). When in position, the fitting supports the boot lid at a height which does not obstruct the driver's vision towards the rear.
