Abstract

Engravings and pictures etc., are reproduced on a thin copper sheet, backed by a coloured Bakelite (RTM) support, by opposing regions of natural copper onto the lower side of the support with the film of copper removed from the outer surfaces. The circuit trace is pref. impressed onto a sheet of copper adherent to the Bakelite and covering one surface completely using an ink which, when dry, forms a protective mask. The surface is then etched with iron perchlorate to remove the exposed regions. After washing the ink is removed and the copper shows on a black background. The ink may be applied by screen printing.
