Abstract

A method of moulding a low-friction watch bearing in an opening in an already cast, reinforced plastics plate is as follows: a temporary core is introduced into the opening, so as to define the central passage for the intended bearing; the low-friction plastics to form the bearing is injected in such a way that this material spreads symmetrically around the core so that there are no forces tending to displace it. The temporary core and injection opening are pref. coaxial. Pref., as soon as the plastics forming the bearing has set, the core is withdrawn into a space clear of the bearing. The high strength of the reinforced plastics plate or similar component is combined with the low-friction properties of the bearing material cast into it. By the symmetrical introduction of the material for the latter and its symmetrical flow around the temporary core, a non-shifting arrangement is ensured leading to accurately located bearings. No drilling or similar operations are required.
