Abstract

Automatically operated diffuser valve for overhead fire extinction system has a simple construction and the area covered is relatively large, with improved spread and penetration. Screwed into the main supply system (2), the body (1) contains a plunger (4) with two sealing rings (5, 6). A cap (7) screws on the body and guides the plunger. Nozzle jets (9) with spreader cones (10) are positioned in the cap, their arrangement and anges depending on the extinguishing liquid used. A stirrup (7a, 11) holds a capsule (8) against the plunger (4) and the system pressure (3) behind. When the capsule is shattered, by heat or electrically, the plunger drops down to a shoulder (12) and the valve operates.
