Abstract
Polymers contg. silane gps. in its main chain and/or its side-chains and/or as end-gps. are made by reacting a cyclic monoolefin and/or a polybutadiene, a polypiperylene and/or a butadiene-styrene copolymer in the presence of a reactive olefinically unsatd. silane and a catalyst. The catalyst contains (a) a cpd. of Re, Ta, Mo or W, (b) a Gp. I-IV organometallic cpd. and (c) opt. a cocatalyst opt. in the presence of an inert organic solvent at -60 degrees C to +60 degrees C. The products are rubbers contg. in addn. to C=C unsatn., reactive functionality due to the Si atoms which improves chemical bonding of fillers and improves their adhesion to glass fibres and to metals.
