Abstract

Mortar mixt. comprises on the one hand a ureic resin binder mixed with mineral aggregates such as lime silicate, quartz powders, granite, marble, sand, mica, etc, on the other hand a hardening agent, in which the mineral content is >90%. In one embodiment a mixt. is used in which 50% of the aggregate is 1-2.5 mm dia., 25% is 0.4-1.5 mm dia. and 25% is 500 mu. To this mixt. 12% ureic resin and 2% hardener (50% benzyl peroxide) is added. The mortar is rapidly moulded in wooden metal or rubber moulds by rapidly rotating and vibrating the moulds to give a set in 45-60 mins. Used for mfr. of thin facade panels and moulded shapes such as lintels, sculptures, decorated tableaux, tables for living room and garden, etc. The mortar mixt. has improved strength, resistance to acids etc. and to weathering greater than natural stone, etc.
