Abstract
High purity glass is prepd. in a fusion crucible by supplying at least the heat reqd. in the refining and homogenising stages from a high frequency heat source. The fusion crucible is made from a dielectric matl. and is water cooled. The glass can be used in laser and optical fibre mfr.
