Abstract
The storage capacitor bypass contains in series a thyristor acting as charging switch, an inductive current-limiting resistance and an ignition capacitor. The latter capacitor is in turn bypassed by a thyristor discharge switch and the primary of an ignition coil. The charging switch is connected by its cathode via a control capacitor to a junction point, and by its control electrode via a switch unit of predetermined rupturing capacity to the same point. This in turn is connected to the thyristor anode via a control diode, loade in the flow direction by the storage capacitor charging current. The switch unit can be a Diac, and can form with a limitation resistance a series circuit between control electrode and junction point.
