Abstract

The head for an underwater cross bow or gun enables the diver to load the weapon quickly and avoids the risk of inadvertent firing. The device consists of a semi-circular locating ramp (4) at the front of the head. An oblique slot (5) separates the ramp from a side wall (6) which is shaped to facilitate the positioning of the arrow. The head also has two apertures to hold the elastic (10 & 11). The tubular stock (12) is fixed in a further aperture. To load the weapon, the arrow is placed obliquely over the head. The end is lowered so as to enter the slot, rotated slightly at the same time and passed under the ramp, fitting easily into place.
