Abstract

Greenhouse type structure of semi-circular cross section constitutes plastic sheet tensioned over a frame of curved, parallel glass fibre roof rods supported on lateral side frames. Sheet tension obviates internal roof damage and the system reduces sheet chafing by supports. The rods (2) obtain their curvature due to side thrust which is provided by their connection on side wall tops and the restraint of the tensioned plastic sheet. All side frames and openings constitute rectangles with similarly curved vertical rods. Rod ends are housed in gusset sockets, emanating from side frame sleeves. Transverse rods are joined by longitudinal runners.
