Abstract
920,435. Bedsteads. MOBED Ltd. April 7, 1960 [April 17, 1959; Sept. 10, 1959], Nos. 13195/59 and 30956/59. Class 52 (2). [Also in Group XXXII] Relates to a bed securable to a vehicle roof (see Group XXXII). A mobile bed 1, Fig. 1, comprises a rigid frame 2 formed from girder sections 3 having brackets 4 securable to the roof gutters 13 and flexible and substantially inextensible cross bands 6 stretched between the brackets for supporting the bed on the roof. Referring to Fig. 3 a bed structure comprises a base pan 22 for a mattress, a hinged canopy 23, a hinged rigid head wall 24, and side walls 25 of flexible material, the canopy being lowerable over the walls 24, 25 when collapsed into the base pan. The latter is secured to a saddle member 28, Fig. 7, provided with end members 29 to which are secured angle pieces 30 attached to taut steel bands 31 for mounting the bed structure on the vehicle roof. Door openings 26 may be provided in each side 25.
