Abstract

Injection device is intended for therapeutic liqs., partic. insulin for diabetics, of which repeated injections are reqd. It comprises a bottle, contg. the liq. to be injected, which is connected by a 3-way tap to the syringe and the injection needle. These components are fixed to the support which can move in the box so that the injection can be semi-automatic. The support is united to the rod which co-operates with a trip lever; the rod carries a compression spring which bears on the support and on the Box. Once the rod is armed and the spring compressed, the trip lever liberates the rod and the support is projected forward so that the needle is pushed through the opening of the box while the latter bears on the surface of the skin where the injection is to be effected. The syringe is first filled by positioning the valve and drawing the liq. into the syringe; the tap is then turned so that the syringe is brought into communication with the needle and the injection performed after releasing the trip lever. The grouping of the various necessary items into a complete assembly considerably facilitates the injection. The spring, which is armed before use. introduces the needle rapidly into the skin without pain. Injections of a periodic character can be made with ease.
