Abstract

Formwork for box section cells for building construction embodies suspended inner shutters with laterally mobile outer side forms and longitudinally mobile casting base. The inner form (1) comprising an inverted U in section is suspended with specific two dimensional play on a longitudinal end anchorage (9) and two lateral struts (8). Initially the base is cast on a rail guided carriage which is then fed under the inner form; this latter then being lowered into position via hydraulically suspended wheels (56, 57), the load being gradually transferred from the strut supports (8). Sequential steel and side form fixing is then followed by concreting.
