Abstract

Water soluble seed tapes comprise a polymeric matl. (I), esp. PVA, Na. CMC, hydroxypropylcellulose, vinyl acetate copolymers, dimethylhydantoin-HCHO, polyethylene oxide, PVP or a methyl vinyl ether-maleic anhydride copolymer, in which are enclosed or encapsulated viable seeds. The tapes are less expensive than known 'sandwich' type tapes and are stable against wind and rain when placed on the ground so do not need to be covered with earth.
