Abstract

The convector has a two pass finned tube with flow (A') and return (R') ducts terminating in a semi-cylindrical header which has stub branches (A, R) for the flow and return connections to the single pipe heating main. Within the header is a butterfly damper or valve (O). In one extreme position (2) it divides the header into two so that the flow and return halves are separate. In the other extreme position (1) it closes the end of the finned tube (A') and leaves the header linking flow and return connections (A, R). In intermediate positions it divides the flow so that part goes to the convector and part to the return.
