Abstract

L -epsilon -N-acetyl-lysine is prepd. by fermentation of a mutant of a gram-positive bacterium requiring methionine and threonine selected from Micrococcus, Brevibacdterium, Corynebacterium, Arthrobacter and Mycobacterium. The product is useful in nutrition and can be made using cheap substrates e.g. 10-22 C paraffins.
