Abstract

Stocking or tight type footwear embodies lower terminal foot shaped sheat (21) with a sole (22) and features a supple fibrous layer (25) inserted between the foot sheath and the sole. The sheath (21) is of meshed textile material and pref. a plastic band (23) encompasses the foot base periphery and the edges of the sole n22) and interposing layer (25). The interposing layer (25) is pref. of increased depth under the heel either by means of a step or a tapering of the depth (25a) under the arch of the foot. The fibrous layer may be a light insulating layer such as wool and the plastic band a polyvinyl chloride.
