Abstract

The plastics housing for electrical installations, e.g. control units and esp. speed regulators for ventilator fans, may be wall-mounted in surface or flush manner and consists of a cooling plate and an enclosing insulating case. The semiconductor power components for e.g. the regulator are mounted on the cooling plate which has a cable lead-through hole and also seals to partition walls inside the casing. External switches etc. are mounted on the front of the casing. The sides of the casing have ventilation slots which lead to the space around the cooling plate, the remaining parts of the assembly being sealed against the ambient atmosphere. The lead-through of the cooling plate may be sealed as well.
