Abstract

A flexible belt fits round the user's pelvis and carries a removable support for a flexible faeces pocket connected to the artificial anus. The support is in the form of a rigid casing in the shape of a tubular elbow, whose short branch ends in an aperture communicating with the anus and surrounded by a collar bearing against the abdominal wall. The long branch forms at its end an orifice, around whose edge the edge of the pocket inlet can be fitted. The collar can have a groove in its outer face, giving a sucker effect so that it adheres to the abdominal wall. Each end of the belt can have a slip securing the upper edge of the pocket.
