Abstract

Method of establishing a microwave surveillance barrier by actuating a transmitter which directs a beam determining the location of the supervised zone. The receiver is selectively sensitive to electromagnetic waves rectilinearly polarised in a given plane, the transmitter generates a rectilinear polarised wave whose polarisation plane is perpendicular to the plane corresponding to the maximum sensitivity of the receiver and the electromagnetic beam of waves is emitted in the direction of a fixed polarising reflector which deflects the beam in the direction of the transmitter and the receiver whilst simultaneously causing a considerable rotation of the polarising plane of the reflected wave with respect to the polarising plane of the incident wave.
