Abstract

Resistance bridge has one of its arms formed from a series-parallel transfer circuit, which comprises 10 equal resistances which can with the help of switches be connected in series, in parallel or in series-parallel. Inversion means enable the arms of the bridge to be crossed. The invention is by preference applicable to a Kelvin bridge but is also applicable to a Wheatstone bridge. As is known if one connects successively in series and parallel an arrangement of equal resistances the ratio of resistances obtained in each combination is exempt from first order errors. The arm crossing circuit, corrects for drift and an exact ratio of 1 to be obtained in a calibration configuration.
