Abstract

The crane has a steering wheel and operative post assigned to each axle, the rear axle locking with wheels parallel to the longitudinal axis for inter site transit, thereby affording high speeds in transit and extra mobility on site. The auto-motive vehicle has a primary steering post (7) with principal axle, one or more secondary axles fixed or otherwise and means of locking secondary axles. A main steering wheel (9) is operated from the main post (7) whilst secondary axles are locked and a secondary mobile steering post (8) is utilised to operate secondary axles when free. Pref. primary steering is effected by a mechanical linkage with hydraulic assistance and secondary steering by hydraulic means, locking of wheels being effected mechanically.
