Abstract

A semifinished rubber tube, esp. for a car radiator hose, is vulcanised as follows: the hose is mounted as a tight fit on a metal core which generates the heat, the outside of the hose being insulated to prevent heat loss, so that the hose rises to the same temp. as the core. The core is pref. a metal tube, with internal heating esp. by steam.
