Abstract

The valve is driven by an electric motor fitted with a reduction gear (1) which drives a shaft (2) carrying a toothed half coupling (3) which fits within an internally toothed mating half (4). The half coupling (4) carries a cam (7) which operates limit switches to hold the valve in the required position. A shaft (8) connected to the half coupling (4) drives the valve ball (9) which rotates in the valve body (10) which is provided with two cylindrical holes (15) so arranged that the valve port (12) can be connected to either of the ports (13) or (14). Alternatively the valve can be closed if the ball (9) is held midway between these positions.
