Abstract

Guide device for needles or platens in a knitting machine of the type having spacer elements and needle bars tightly stacked against each other and placed vertically in a transverse position relative to a base plate, the reference surfaces of the spacers and of the needle bars being applied against a longitudinal, integral reference surface of the base plate, and having at least one longitudinal bar which crosses each of the spacers by a notch on each spacer, comprises the improvement that it incorporates a means for pulling each of the bars which cross the notches on each element, the pulling being directed towards the base plate when the higher plane serves as the reference plane for the vertical position of the spacers which are placed on it and held by the longitudinal bars, and a means for tightening the spacers against each other constituted of levers placed on each side of the base plate and jointed in their medium plane on the axis situated approx. in the plane of the neutral fibres of the plate, the rotation of the levers about their axes being free, but the levers being immobilised by other means.
