Abstract

A felt panel is coated on one surface with a film of water-soluble thermoplastic adhesive, whereby the panel can be secured to e.g. a garment by hot pressing. The felt panel may be used as a decoration, or may form part of the garment e.g. a pocket. The panel is cheaper and less likely to be damaged than panels having a coating of pressure sensitive adhesive. The use of a water soluble thermoplastic eliminates the use of an organic solvent (which may damage the felt or garment) when applying the thermoplastic layer to the felt.
