Abstract

Applicn. of resin based dressings to textiles by spraying the fabric with conc. solns. allowed to gradually permeate the fabric, dry and cure. Esp. for applying anti creasing agents at a loading of 5-10% wt. by using a fine spray of 35-75, pref. 25-50% concn. The material should hang for >=12 days during satn and curing. Surface spraying and gradual diffusion avoids use of excess liqs. involved by vat dipping and wringing operations. Natural drying avoids investment in ovens or other accelerated drying devices. Used to impregnate cotton twill with 3-11% of a mixt. of dihydroxy-4,5 dimethylol-1,3 imidazolidinone-2 and Zn Nitrate.
