Abstract

The sole has several fixing orifices, each formed by a hole which is usually cylindrical and which passes through the sole to open into a rectangular slot on the bottom surface. The sandal's upper covering has downwardly extending straps which are folded and the loops thus formed are passed through the orifices. A pin or small-headed nail is fitted through each loop, and fitted into the slots. This pin or nail's length exceeds the diameter of the orifices and the pins or nails are preferably aligned with the longitudinal axis of the foot.
