Abstract

Bait for control of exanthropic and hemisynanthropic mammals by spreading over the ground consists basically of a flour and a fat of animal or plant origin and also contains 2-10 wt. % maize- or potato starch and/or gelatin; 4-20% Zn phosphide, 'Terra-sytam' or an organophosphorus cpd; 2-10% colourant esp. ultramarine or ground blue cobalt glass, and is formed into coarse granules of size 3 x 5 to 4 x 7mm. in the form of scraps or pieces of irregular geometric form e.g. cylindrical pieces without a recognisable plant structure. The compsns. are biodegradable and are not attractive to birds and too small to be a serious hazard to larger animals.
