Abstract

The front wheel assembly of the folding bicycle carries a shroud forming part of the frame, and pivots about a point (3) so that after the handlebars have been folded, the wheel is enclosed by the shroud. Similarly the rear wheel pivots about a point (2) after the pedals have been folded to be enclosed by a rear shroud, which has a recess to receive the saddle (7). The two shrouds are then swung towards one another about a vertical hinge axis (1) to form a compact unit for transport, the shroud protecting the user from dirt and grease during handling.
