Abstract

The bicycle chain cover is of the type which fully encloses the chain and whose walls are in sheet material to which the rigid oval rim is secure, the cover being in two halves (1, 2) packed along a line (24, 25) between pedal (3) and wheel axis (4) the walls of both halves being provided with a longitudinal cut-out (5, 6) through which one leg of the rear pack extends, and means (14, 16, 17) being provided for securing the two halves to the bicycle frame and to each other. Along the entire circumference of the cut-outs the sheet material of the two side walls is bent inwards (8) so that their edges (9) meet when the two halves are assembled. The relative position of the walls is fixed by bolts secured (14, 16, 17) adjacent to the forward (8") and rearward (8') end of the cut-out.
