Abstract

828,252. Luggage-carriers. ORLEBAR, N. B. April 2, 1958 [April 2, 1957], No. 10687/57. Class 136(1) A luggage container 1 for motor cycles comprises two spaced apart pannier-like portions 1a locatable on either side of the rear wheel 2 and a rear container portion lb spanning the rear ends of the two pannier portions, the forward parts of which portions form arm-like extensions of the main body of the container extending forwardly therefrom such that when viewed from above the container is generally U- shaped. The front parts of the pannier portions are covered by an integral closure 1g to which a domed lid 9 is attached by means of a hinge 7. The container is supported on the motor cycle by a pair of arms 3 and by two bolts 6 which join the pannier inner walls 1e and the mudguard 8. The pannier portions and rear portions may be formed integrally or they may comprise separate portions.
