Abstract

The accelerator is actuated by a hydraulic piston. The feed to this piston comes from a special hydraulic regulator valve connected to a speed sensing device and the vehicle hydraulic transmission output. It does not require two independent hydraulic pumps. A control cylinder with piston has the speed and load sensed signals applied at opposite ends. The final position of the piston controls the amount of pressure connected to the accelerator piston. Speed sensing can be done in various ways, e.g. centrifugally, and a diaphragm can sense the engine load and vehicle speed. Electrical devices can be used for the same purpose.
