Abstract
Electric battery which can be activated, by sea water, comprising at least one cell with a zinc anode and nickel oxide cathode, between which is an inert separator (glass fibre, felt, paper etc) impregnated with a specific amt. of KOH which is sufficient to form a caustic electrolyte when the battery is activated by sea water. Spec. KOH concn. is >=25 g per 100 ml. of cell volume.
