Abstract

Dichloromethane compsns are stabilised against degradation by reaction with aromatic cpds. in the presence of metals, metal halides or mixt. thereof by the addn. of 0.001-2 wt.% of diisopropylamine, N-methylpyrrole, butylene oxide, propylene oxide, methyl acetate, acetone or a technical mixt. of amylenes. Pref. 0.002-1 wt.% of stabiliser is added and methanol may also be added. Method is partic. useful for stabilisation in the presence of Al, Fe and Zn or their halides, and is useful as metal degreasers.
