Abstract

A floating device removes oil, froth etc. from the surface of rivers, lakes, water tanks or settling basins and deposits them on the shore. A main float has radial passages to the centre where a pump impeller with a vertical shaft is driven by an electric motor. An annular float, leaving a gap relative to the main float is joined to the main float by a U-shaped flexible strip so that both can float at different levels. The upper edge of the strip acts as regulator for the oil or froth at the point where it is fastened to the annular float.
