Abstract

Material for covering floors, decks, stair treads, etc. consists of (1) 20-45% or a hardened, flame resistant, vinyl modified rubber binder, (2) 2-10% of a flame retardant agent (3) 30-70% of a filler contg. 0-10 wt.% of a friction filler chosen from silica sand, mullite, sillimanite, aluminium oxide or carborundum as well as calcium silicate, calcium carbonate, barytes, clay or cork, (4) 0-10% of a plasticiser and (5) 0-15% of a pigment. The compsns have excellent non-slip and fire retardant properties, even in the wet state good wear resistance and are less rough than known non-slip flooring materials.
