Abstract

Self-adjusting electronic yarn cleaner, with controllable channel(s) connected to the yarn cross section sensor for evaluation of its signal and to release a yarn cutter when the cross section is faulty, has a thickness signal, representing the av. yarn thickness over a length, tapped of as the yarn is running and formed, with reference to the relative cleaning limit of the evaluation channel from which it was tapped, into a control signal for this evaluation channel, to adjust the response threshold in the same sense as the size of the thickness signal.
