Abstract

Piezoelectric ceramic of formula PbZrxTil-xO3, doped with mu % MnO, where 0.45 = x =0.6 and 0.1 = mu =1.0, is made by mixing high purity oxides of Pb, Zr, Ti and Mn in stoichiometric quantities with distilled water, allowing for losses likely to occur during processing, grinding the mixt. for 2-4 hrs., drying in an oven, calcining at 900-1000 degrees C. for several hours, regrinding, cold pressing at 1 t./cm.2 to the desired shapes and sintering at 1000-1100 degrees C. at a pressure of 200-1000 kg./cm.2 for 1/4 to 4 hrs.
